Introducing Permit Pending, a New Project by Tutt and Carroll – September 2019

We are pleased to introduce Permit Pending, a collaborative project with our friends Dustin Mix and Maria Gibbs of INVANTI.

Permit Pending is our attempt to present under-utilized spaces as proving grounds for new projects focused on art, business, food, and gathering.

This notion to activate under-utilized space for budding creative projects is not new to South Bend; the combination of compelling locations and restless talent has established a rich tradition of the practice in spaces such as LangLab, The J.C. Lauber Building, and The Well, by groups including The Birdsell Project, New Industry Dance, Bantam Diner, and Works In Progress.

We seek to contribute to this tradition through Permit Pending.

For our first project, we will use a piece of the Vested Interest courtyard as the proving grounds for South Bend Burger Society, a new venture by Kevin Lawler of Baker & Rose. Join us for an evening of food, drink, and conversation around the campfire with burgers, domestic beer, and s’mores available for purchase. All are welcome with RSVP.
