Tutt and Carroll Partners with Homebody: House Concert Festival

Last month, this studio formed a partnership with and designed a new brand identity for Homebody, a house concert festival.

Homebody pairs musicians with homes to provide unique performing opportunities and a cozy listening experience. Myles Robertson, known around town as co-founder of The Birdsell Project and former general manager at Purple Porch Co-op in the East Bank, founded the festival in 2018 with a single weekend of shows in South Bend’s Near Northwest, Near West, and Monroe Park neighborhoods, and in the time since has hosted three additional weekends both here and in nearby Goshen.

If you haven’t been, you are missing out. Last year, South Bend-based guitarist Eli Kahn shared why the house concert setting is special for artists and audiences alike:

It kind of strips away the pretense that there’s a separation from the artist and the audience; everyone is in the same room. It’s an equalizer. My favorite thing about house shows is that afterward, everyone kind of hangs out and becomes friends. Everyone shares the experience; it brings everyone closer together. It’s a really good baseline for the whole night where everyone hangs out. It’s one of my favorite settings to play in. (Goshen News)

This April, the festival returns to South Bend for a three-day weekend featuring nine unique musical acts in three cozy South Bend homes. The lineup is as follows:

Friday, April 3
Hollybrook Drive. Granger, Indiana
Heather Styka Music, Joe George, Libby DeCamp

Saturday, April 4
Clinton Street. South Bend, Indiana
Julian Pinelli & Ethan Setiawan, SPACESHIPS, Tazeen and Lu Fuki

Sunday, April 5
East Colfax Avenue. South Bend, Indiana
Micki Miller, John Orpheus, After Ours

Each home opens at 5:30pm, and music starts at 6:00, providing ample time to grab a complimentary cold one provided by South Bend Brew Werks.

We will be there, and invite you to join us. Tickets are now available at homebodyhouseconcertfest.com. Here is a sample of our work:
